Campaign Kick-off at the Fraternity of Eagles brought over 150 people. The evening was a great success, and fun was had by all.
Rep. Swan announced won't seek re-election, and endorses Ben Jr. for office of State Rep of the 11th Hampden District.
Springfield Election Commission confirmed 244 validated signatures. 150 were required to be on Democratic Primary ballot.

"Springfield is my hometown, where I was born and raised by activist parents who instilled in me a commitment to community, an appreciation for justice, personal confidence, as well as a sense of humility.
​
I recognize that in our society what we all share are our Constitution and our inalienable rights that are its foundation. We must defend those rights. Further, we should exercise responsible ownership of our government and our communities. In that vein, I offer myself to be the next State Representative of the 11th Hampden District.

I didn't just show up from nowhere seeking fame. I actually have been in the community, contributing more volunteer time than the other candidates combined. As well, my life's experiences more than qualify me as best suited for the role.

I am ultimately driven by my desire to "...be the change that I wish to see in the world."
I will not make hollow promises. However, I do promise to be a deliberate steward of the office, to listen with an open mind and heart, to responsibly represent your concerns and interests in Boston, and to provide effective constituent services here in Springfield."
